Acabei de me deparar com isso também. Olhando para o erro de instalação, vi isso:

Depois de instalar o python3 corretamente, ele funciona (mesmo com PYTHONPATH definido para o valor antigo).

Eu acho que isso é agravado também pelo recente lançamento 1.0.0 do brew - parece ter mudado várias coisas do python para mim, e eu tive que reinstalar vários pacotes.

Eu tenho um colega que tem o mesmo mac, mas está funcionando no dele, reinstalei python, pip, setuptools, brew upgrade, tudo, ainda não consigo descobrir o que está acontecendo

Obrigado @sheeley , isso funcionou para mim, embora meu python3 não estivesse vinculado e decidi forçar a desinstalação e instalá-lo novamente, e agora funciona!

Isso aconteceu comigo depois que atualizei o npm de 3.10.10 para 4.0.5... Tentei a solução @sheeley , mas não funcionou para mim. Minha correção foi brew uninstall httpie então brew install httpie . Agora voltei ao normal. FYI .... Isso foi no meu MacBook Pro (início de 2011) executando o macOS 10.9.5
