Aiohttp: Parameter "loop_factory" should be declared explicitly via indirect or in function itself

Created on 12 Mar 2020  ·  3Comments  ·  Source: aio-libs/aiohttp

Attempting to upgrade from 3.7.2 to 3.8.1 and I started seeing the following in py.test with test discovery:

Parameter "loop_factory" should be declared explicitly via indirect or in function itself

The commonality it turns out were async functions, and it appears to be caused somewhere within aiohttp. I'm not that familiar with asyncio or aiohttp, so I'm happy to debug more with guidance, but I'm hoping someone might have more thoughts here.

This might not actually be 3.8.x related, as im now seeing in 3.7.2. Going to continue to bisect.

This is caused by the release of pytest==5.4.0. I just got burned by it and rolling back to pytest<5.4 resolves the problem.

Yep you're right. Just got that far in my debugging :).

Hopefully this helps someone Googling for it. Will triage on pytest.
