Pip: 'extra' funktioniert nicht in pip 8.1.1

• Python-Version: 2.7.11+
• Betriebssystem: Ubuntu 16.04
  

  Beschreibung:

pip 8.1.1 schlägt fehl mit dem Fehler "UndefinedEnvironmentName: 'extra' existiert nicht in der Evaluierungsumgebung." wenn ich versuche, ein Paket zu installieren, das extras_require verwendet (django-constance[Datenbank])

Ein Downgrade auf pip 8.1.0 behebt das Problem.

Was ich gelaufen bin:

In einer sauberen virtuellen Umgebung mit setuptools==21.0.0 laufe ich

pip install 'django-constance[database]==1.1.2'

was fehlschlägt mit:
