Font-awesome: Icon request: xrp
What can it be used for?
XRP is the cryptocurrency symbol of the world's third-largest cryptocurrency by market cap. Font-Awesome already supports #1 and #2 respectively (btc and ethereum). Please consider adding XRP!
Not to be confused with the logo of Ripple (which is a company), XRP is a digital asset (not a company) so is a totally separate entity.
Here (on the Ripple corporate website https://ripple.com/xrp/) you can see both the Ripple logo and the XRP symbol.
The XRP symbol is the official outcome of a community endeavour to come up with a unicode-friendly symbol.

This is not a duplicate. The symbol in #5829 is a completely different symbol representing a company. This new request is for a symbol that represents a digital asset called XRP.

The existing request is for Ripple (the company). Recently there was a vote on submissions for a separate symbol for the currency, XRP. This is the symbol (by Ripple, the company) the community picked. The entire community is now updating websites (top left).

The official XRP Ledger website (xrpl.org) uses FontAwesome (admittedly, we're still on v4—we've been using FA since at least 2014) so it would be neat to have the icon in there.

@xrpscan (xrpscan.com) is a paying customer of the awesome @fontawesome icons and we've been waiting for XRP icon for quite a while.

FontAwesome has "bitcoin", "btc", "ethereum"..
"xrp" was also in the top 4 currencies by market cap for many years, so I'm sure a lot of users waiting for it to be added!

Can't believe this has been open 2 years, just a simple icon to include which is already in vector format, it's not like it has to be created from scratch or anything. C'mon FontAwesome pull your finger out!

I don't think the FontAwesome team can be blamed for that: this suggestion by @dakisan (thank you!) existed for a long time but got no love from XRPL developers. Luckily that's happening now :)
