Gatsby: [gatsby-remark-images] Disable image height stretching

Each time i use an image in my .md files, they are stretched in height. I tried to override the img height in my css to height: auto;, in that case, i get blur underneath the image. How can i remove image height stretching? That is only 100% width and auto or no height?

Problem was caused by white-space: pre-line; in my CSS.
