Hi, I dug into PHPExcel issues and read that it will no longer be maintained in favor of PhpSpreadsheet , as said in their readme:
PhpSpreadsheet is the next version of PHPExcel. It breaks compatibility to dramatically improve the code base quality (namespaces, PSR compliance, use of latest PHP language features, etc.).
Because all efforts have shifted to PhpSpreadsheet, PHPExcel will no longer be maintained. All contributions for PHPExcel, patches and new features, should target PhpSpreadsheet develop branch.
Was wondering if Laravel-Excel would use PhpSpreadsheet in its future releases if and when they push a stable release?
Cheers for this awesome project by the way!
Paul
If PhpSpreadsheet will go stable I'll definitely consider upgrading yes.
It will be nice to move on PhpSpreadsheet when phpexcel stop being supported
Closing this in favour of https://github.com/Maatwebsite/Laravel-Excel/issues/1227
