Everyone should hope that the sooner it will be launched, the better. I used to learn to use flutter, but now I start to use xamarin to learn, research and develop.

I highly doubt that the timeframe will be met, because the development for xamarin 5 hasn't finished, the plan was to finish with the .net 5 release but it was postponed.
Currently they are on preview 4:

Since MAUI is based on Xamarin they IMHO first have to finish Xamarin 5 before actually doing work besides from renaming namespaces for MAUI.
