Guide_3ds: The Menuhax installation of Homebrew Launcher (Browser) is not necessary and confusive

Created on 12 Oct 2016  ·  3Comments  ·  Source: hacks-guide/Guide_3DS

Although installing Menuhax can give us some benefits on rebooting HBL (when you missed something or got an error on entering SysDowngrader):

  • Quick restart.
  • No adjusting date and time (for 9.9~) or facing up with extremely low bootrate of Sliderhax (for O3DS) anymore.

It has the following issues:

  • We actually don't need it for everything. If no Menuhax, we can still use the exploit first booted into HBL.
  • When Menuhax upgrades, the old versions will never work. NOOBS will stuck on this step when they don't know they should update Menuhax.

AFAIK, menuhax is only used in the guide as an easier way to launch homebrew channel. It's completely removed in the end of the Guide. Why make things more difficult?

It's included because browserhax is less reliable, and it's removed at the end.

Just to say again.
Noobs will get stuck when Menuhax is updated (which makes old version not working) or Menuhax server is down.
This makes noobs CLAIM on the guide because they think they cannot go further without installing Menuhax BUT ACTUALLY THEY CAN!
At least 100 Chinese noobs had claimed on this part of this guide.
This is the thing we must notice the noobs.
