SVG Version:
Personally I am open in replacing current logo with this, since it follows closely the old design. What do you guys think? ( @qbittorrent/qbittorrent-frequent-contributors )
I like this new logo a lot.
The photos above where made on macOS but I'm hoping that is this icon will replace the current one it will be across systems (including Windows) not only macOS.
It's better than the current one. 😄 What about #3751?
This one in my opinion is a lot better. Should we have a vote or something like that?
I like this icon.

IMO, this looks better. If noone objects in the next days, I'll replace the current one.
@atfzl just to be clear, under which license do you give us this logo? public domain? Creative Commons? GPL? etc.
IMO, this looks better.
Go ahead!
@sledgehammer999 I am not sure which license would be best. I was thinking about GPL.
Here is the source sketch file:

LGTM.
Now I love the @bugmenot2 one. Just take one, I don't care!
Why not include both? 😏 One for light theme the other for dark theme?
Sorry I had begun making a PR with the first one. Take a look at #6484.
I also like the 2nd picture.
I like the second one more, but the letters look a little bit dirty. Also I'm confused by the 3d effect - looks a little bit unnatural.
Could the poster release a version without the glow? And with the 3D effect reworked?
In short - MORE versions please.
The second logo without 3d effects:
One last thing: the Q letter has a color which is very similar to the background color, so it's starting to blend in and disappear. I'd like its color to be made more distinct.
Chiming in with buried proposal #5114
Hey @birdie-github,
Try this, i have changed the shade in q and added shadow to the main structure.
I was trying on light background and I noticed that the light blue color of border was getting faded, so added shadow.
Now the icon looks much more identical to the current icon.
I tried it on my system and it looks better with shadow with light backgrounds.

Looks really great aside from the fact that the Q letter is still blending in with the background because it has a very similar color.
@birdie-github, I need help regarding the color of q character. I tried other shades but they didn't feel right.
I've played a little bit with it, and I think the letters look great when they're both white.
In case you're interested it's Gill Sans at 384pt.
@birdie-github, Gill Sans looks interesting but will have to increase border to match the width of font.
@atfzl: I think adding a very subtle shadow to the letters could help, but IMHO both colors and font are fine already.
@birdie-github: Let me disagree with you, the Q clearly stands out even at the smallest icon sizes.
@bugmenot2
Suit yourself. When I resized it to 24x24 the Q button simply disappeared for all intents and purposes. My variant with a slightly thicker font and white letters is readable at any size, including 16x16.
For style reasons I'd mirror the q letter instead of using the one provided by this font to make the logo look symmetric.
I figured I'd just throw a link in here. (You've probably seen it, many times.)

I've been using this icon for probably a year now and I thought they were quite similar, though I prefer the one I posted here.
If you could make your icon a little darker, I'd appriciate it.. or maybe there could be a light and dark version, similar to the way the taskbar icon has two versions.
(Just my opinion.)
When I resized it to 24x24 the Q button simply disappeared for all intents and purposes.
Please show us what you got. Here's what I get with my tools:
Fractal scaling:
Lanczos scaling:
Mitchell scaling:
@bug-me-not
With all the resize methods, b is quite distinct and clearly readable, while q is "dirty" and blends in with the background.
Compare to this:
I understand your position, but I really think the Q is as "distinct and clearly readable" as the B, sorry :man_shrugging:
I think the "q" is fine, at least on Fractal scaling. Lanczos and Mitchell seems to make the font a little blurry.
Though I find the outer ring to be quite hard to notice at that size.
Not that it matters though.
Hello someone linked my icon idea (Thanks, @Bloodcore!), so I thought I'd join the thread,
http://ssvdude.deviantart.com/art/qbittorent-Icon-589035499
I still have the PSD any suggestions are welcome.
Just a small heads up from me: There is a bit of activity on allowing more people to manage this project on github, my reviewing of old, big and PRs and my real life. Shortly I'll resume this thread, probably sometime in the end of the week. Stay tuned.
Hey, I didn't know this was going on, but now that I do, I'll share the icon I made for my personal use. (I added the background to make the border visible)
And here are tiny versions:
I made these in Sketch, so they are vector and can become any size necessary. I'm willing to share that and license it under whatever. I also have .icns files made for Macs if anyone wants them.
Edit: Here's my dock, ignore the downloaded version by the trash

pretty nice logo from the breeze-icons theme

i'll add mine as well:
i like the the very top one, the original one of this post. there's enough contrast between the letters and the blue, and it's minimal and flat which matches w10 well.
and few others...
since it's qb (cube_y_) we are talking about...

@sledgehammer999 new logo looks super fuzzy in the Windows 10 taskbar

@sledgehammer999 Ah, thank you. So it will be fixed with the 5.9.4 upgrade.
How to integrate icons into the program? What tool to use? The program has a choice that the icon is placed in the tray, but there is no icon chosen by the user.
