What would be the focus of such blog entries?

Basically the stuff we currently write into the release notes but where more timely reports would be relevant. For example, if we update the website, change development workflow, when projects start using Elektra, or when news report about Elektra, or discussions are happening.

But we could also use Microblogging to link to important issues currently discussed, so that you are informed what it is going on without subscribing to everything. I'll add microblogging as topic for the next meeting.

I did everything in the "Important" section now. But I do not think this is a problem: they might even take news more serious if more people report it. Only where they have voting it might be better to vote instead of resubmitting.
